Choosing a car seat? Safety is paramount

Sadly, many children are seriously injured in car accidents every year.
In many cases their injuries could have been prevented had they been secured in age-appropriate child restraints.
When buying a child restraint, always refer to the laws for guidance on which one to buy.
The laws, which came into effect in 2010 and can be viewed on the RMS (ex-RTA) website, mean children aged four years to seven years must be secured in a forward-facing child restraint or booster seat, and children younger than four years cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with two or more rows.
All child restraints sold in Australia must meet the Australian/New Zealand Standard.
