Call to safely fit child car seats, Derbyshire Road Safety Week

MAKE sure your child’s car seat is safely fitted – that’s Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership’s message to parents as part of Child Safety Week.
Derbyshire County Council has teamed up with an expert car seat fitter to offer free safety checks in supermarket car parks on the following dates:
Tuesday June 19
• Ripley, Sainsbury’s: 9.30am − 12.30pm
• Matlock, Sainsbury’s: 1.30pm − 4.30pm
Thursday June 21
• Staveley, Morrisons: 9.30am − 12.30pm
• Chesterfield, Sainsbury’s: 1.30pm − 4.30pm
Partnership chairman Mike Ashworth said: “We’re urging parents to take advantage of these free checks during Child Safety Week.
“Seats must be fitted properly to offer maximum protection - it’s vital that motorists who travel with youngsters understand the importance of choosing the right seat and fitting it correctly.”
